Che
For this project we learned about the Cuban Revolution. Specifically, we learned about Fidel Castro and Che Guevara. For our image, we were supposed to put Che in an ironic setting saying three commands. Since he hated America and capitalism, I thought it would be very ironic to put him in front of the American flag. We also had to do a short speech about the life of Che.
La Casa En Mango Street
For this project, we had to create a podcast about a place we lived when we were kids. We read chapters from a book called La Casa en Mango Street. We had to then recreate chapters from the book in our podcast. My story is about my house in Forest Lakes that I lived in when I was little.

Las Ramblas
For this project, we had to interview a classmate in spanish. This was a hard project, because we could not use any English to interview our classmate. We had to ask their age, hobbies, favorite food and several other things in spanish. We then had to create a little poster to hang in Susy's room.
Wax Museum
For this project, we had to pick a spanish person to study. We then had to do research and put together a presentation about that person. For the exhibition, we had to dress as our person and prepare a short speech from the point of view of our person. For my project, I chose to study Desi Arnaz. I chose him because I love the old TV show 'I Love Lucy'. I also chose to complete the challenge extension, and I made a collage of 'I Love Lucy' pictures.
Cuento de tu niñez.
For this project we had to write a story about a childhood memory. During this project we learned the preterit in spanish. I wrote my story about Disney world. It is important to be able to use the past tense because you can't communicate everything in present tense.
Un Dia En La Vida
For this project, we had to write a story about a day in the life of someone or something. My story is about a unicorn who gets abducted by aliens. We had to write ten sentences in Spanish and use six reflexive verbs. Reflexive verbs are important to learn, because they don't exist in English. Reflexive verbs happen when the subject of a sentence and the object of a sentence are the same. Example: I wash myself
My Porque Statement
Estudio español porque quiero viajar a méxico, y para hablo dos idiomas, y por
mi trabajo futuro.
I want to learn spanish so that I can go on a trip to mexico. And i want to be able
to travel to spanish speaking countries. I think spanish is important because
speaking two languages makes you smarter and allows you to travel to places
you would never be able to otherwise. I also think that learning any language
can help you get a job in the future.
